What? Shakira went viral on social media following giving her honest opinion regarding the film ‘Barbie’. In an interview with Allure magazine’s website, the artist criticized the film’s approach and also mentioned raising her children.

“I watched it, yes,” replied the singer. “My kids absolutely hated it. They felt it was emasculating. And I agree, to a certain extent. I am raising two boys. I want them to feel powerful too [enquanto] respect women,” he said.

“I like pop culture when it tries to empower women without robbing men of the ability to be men, to also protect and provide. I believe in giving women all the tools and the confidence that we can do anything without losing our essence, without losing our femininity,” she added.

She also said that men have a purpose: “I think men have a purpose in society and women also have another purpose. We complement each other and this complement should not be lost,” she pointed out.
