Australia was a dream realized for Shania. She fell completely in love with the country and its people. As she shared in Primo, “Australia is really my vibe. The people are vrey chill and take life day by day. Their mindset is great.”
Shania especially appreciated the relaxed atmosphere and the dry, sarcastic sense of humor that she encountered among Australians. “You have to understand, but it’s completely my thing.”
Confronting Fears and Finding Beauty
Kenji, on the other hand, embarked on the journey with less fanfare, harboring some anxieties about the potential encounters with wild animals. “I was afraid of the animals they have there, but it turned out to be much less hazardous than I thought,” he admitted.
“The horror stories about snakes and spiders in the toilets had made me nervous,” Kenji confessed. He had read tales of snakes slithering through sewers and spiders taking up residence under toilet seats. Luckily, he never encountered these creatures firsthand. “I had read that snakes through the sewers can come up and that spiders live under the toilet seat, but I have luckily not seen them.”
Despite their varied initial expectations, both Shania and Kenji found themselves captivated by the beauty and unique culture of Australia. The Gooris family’s adventures serve as a reminder that stepping outside of our comfort zones can lead to unexpected joy and personal growth.
For those considering their own adventures down Under, remember the advice of Shania: embrace the relaxed “go with the flow” attitude and appreciate the unique charm of Australian humor.
