After her recent statements in which she praised the Egyptian man, and caused widespread confusion on social networking sites, the Syrian artist, Lina Shammian, broke her silence.

In a video clip that she showed on her Facebook account, Lina apologized for the great controversy, and confirmed that the video that spread was cut from an interview that she filmed for 3 hours, of which only 17 minutes spread.

“Egypt embraced me”

She explained that her talk touched on art, travel, love, marriage and the way of expressing and dealing with the husband in Syria as well, and not only regarding the Egyptian husband, but regarding them equally.

She also added that Egypt embraced her tightly two years ago, and her good people were like a big family, so she never felt alienated. She pointed out that some people focus on the negative angles of the interviews, and forget the positive things, and perhaps this is what happened with her.
