Saturday followingnoon, a lady who had her baby in her arms was attacked in the Liège city center by an unknown person.
The man violently pushed her and snatched the mobile phone she had in her hand. His crime accomplished, he fled without a trace.
In any case, that’s what he believed since the stolen GSM was equipped with a geolocation system… The police therefore found the trace of the thief who was still in possession of the GSM. They approached him, but were spotted. The man then ran away. During his flight, he threw away the famous mobile phone before being caught and arrested.
When questioned, the 25-year-old man, residing illegally, denied the facts.
He was deprived of his liberty and referred on Sunday morning to the Liège public prosecutor’s office. There, the case was put under investigation with a request for an arrest warrant.
