The lifeless body of a newborn baby was found last Wednesday in a technical room at the IMC site of the Wallonia Picardy Hospital Center (CHwapi), the Tournai prosecutor’s office announced.

An autopsy took place and its verdict is clear: the stillborn baby had been kept in formalin for several years and therefore would not have died recently. The bucket that kept the body would have been placed behind a bicycle shed in the parking lot of the IMC, indicates Frédéric Bariseau, first deputy of the King’s prosecutor.
