Shohei Ohtani launched for the first time against his former team on Wednesday evening and he saw the Los Angeles dodgers bowed 6-5 against the angels.
At his longest start of the season, he gave four points deserved and five strokes in 80 throws and four rounds and a third. He made seven withdrawals on sockets, including two at the expense of Mike Trout with the second on his fastest shot of the evening at 101 m/h.
It was the first time he had launched against the angels since he signed a record contract with the Dodgers before the 2024 season.
It was also the first time that the two ex-teammates and players par excellence had clashed since Ohtani withdrew it to conclude the World Baseball 2023 classic thanks to the same throw, in Tokyo.
Ohtani also hit a double to initiate the first round, then he went to score on a simple Mookie Betts. Will Smith added a two-point circuit to give a 3-0 cushion to Ohtani.
However, he saw the slap of Taylor Ward cross the fence in the second round, his second circuit granted this season. Yoan Moncada reduced the gap to 3-2 after a Luis Rengifo-Balon-Secrifo.
The Japanese, who also struck a non-productive triple, then gave way to Anthony Banda to the mound after a double of Zach Neto who brought the angels to 5-4 in fifth round. He then left the equalizing point on the trails, but the dodgers ended the threat.
Logan O’Hoppe, however, spoiled Ohtani’s return with an arrow in the center in the eighth round, good for two points, while the goals were filled.
The Brewers has a team record victory
William Contreras produced four points, Christian Yelich three, and Brewents the Millwaukee beaten the Pirates of Pittsburgh 12-5 Wednesday.
They extended 12 from their victories series, approaching only one of the organizational record made in 1987.
Milwaukee scored at least 10 points for a second game in a row and for the fourth time in August.
Sal Frelick et Joey Ortiz Each has stored a double and produced two points, then Isaac Collins added the other. Contreras obtained at least two strokes at its last four outings. He totaled 10, including 3 circuits and 12 points produced, during the stay of six meetings of his family at home.
Bryan Reynolds placed the pirates on the board in fifth round thanks to its 12th circuit of the season, against Shelby Millercausing two other runners to the marble. He hit another two points in sixth round at the expense of Nick Mears.
Brandon Woodruff Gneamed four strokes and two goals on balls in four rounds, without allocating point. Jared Koenig (5-1) recorded the victory by being perfect in seventh.
The start of the pirates, Mitch Keller (5-11), lasted only four rounds in the mound. He let eight points over six strokes and two goals on bullets, with five withdrawals on sockets.
Nick Pivetta gave only one point in six rounds and two thirds and the Padres of San Diego deserved a fifth victory in a row, winning him 11-1 against the Giants of San Francisco.
Pivetta (12-4) allocated four strokes and one goal on balls, withdrawing five baton strikers. The British-Colombian withdrew 11 strikers in a row, from the third to the seventh.
Ramón Laureano obtained three strokes, including a two-point circuit which brought the scoring to 10-0, in fifth.
San Diego will play Dodger Stadium from Friday to Sunday.
The two clubs wage a fierce battle for the top of their section.
Jung Hoo Lee struck a 10th triple for the Giants, who have lost their last five games. During the sequence, the team was abused 32-5 at the level of the points.
In a round and two thirds, Kai-Wei Teng (1-2) allowed four points, seven strokes and four goals on balls.

Phi: The Phillies were limited to three strokes, the starter Cristopher Sánchez (11-4) gave four points, three deserved, in six sleeves.
CIN: In one momentum, Miguel Andujar produced four points with a big slam.
