Signing of two agreements to strengthen training in the automotive industry

Two agreements for the strengthening of training in the automotive industry were signed Thursday in Rabat between the Ministry of Economic Inclusion, Small Business, Employment and Skills, the Ministry of Industry and du Commerce, the Office of Vocational Training and Work Promotion (OFPPT), the Renault Morocco Group and the company SNOP-Groupe FSD Morocco.

Initialed by the Minister of Economic Inclusion, Small Business, Employment and Skills, Younes Sekkouri, the Minister of Industry and Trade, Ryad Mezzour, the Director General of the OFPPT, Loubna Tricha, the general manager of the Renault Maroc group, Mohamed Bachiri, and the general manager of the company SNOP-Groupe FSD Maroc, Tajeddine Bennis, the two agreements aim to support the evolution and development of the automotive industry through the preparation of human resources qualified and in line with the skills needs of manufacturers, reports MAP.
This public-private partnership (PPP) is part of the roadmap for the development of vocational training presented in 2019 to HM King Mohammed VI and responds to the recommendations of the new development model (NMD) which places the training of human capital among the imperatives of Morocco’s economic growth.

Speaking on this occasion, Mr. Sekkouri highlighted the importance of vocational training in supporting sectoral strategies, through the development of human capital and the improvement of business performance, emphasizing the role played by the OFPPT, the main training operator, as a locomotive for the preparation and mobilization of skills for its ecosystem, both nationally and internationally.

At the same time, he recalled the projects already initiated, within the framework of the PPP, for the reinforcement of skills in the automotive sector, highlighting the contribution of the cooperation between the OFPPT, the Renault Group and the company SNOP on the matter.

For his part, Mr. Mezzour indicated that the development of national industry and the maintenance of its competitiveness remain dependent on a qualified, dynamic and evolving human capital, noting that the agreements signed today will allow the development of new skills and the integration of young people into the national productive fabric.

And to add: “Our efforts are continuing to meet the new challenges of vocational training in line with the ecosystem and thus promote the rise in performance of Moroccan industry”.

In turn, Ms. Tricha said that the agreements signed reflect the shared desire of the various stakeholders to support the development of the automotive sector, as well as the common conviction that the issue of skills development is that of everyone, public authorities, industrialists and training operators.

“The first partnership sealed with the Renault Morocco Group concerns the establishment of a training offer that meets the specific needs of the group, including industry 4.0, electric cars and automotive culture in general”, he said. – she specified, noting that the areas of collaboration include the development of dedicated training engineering, consultation on the choice of teaching equipment and the development of trainers who will benefit from seminars and visits to Renault factories.

Regarding the 2nd agreement signed with the company SNOP-Groupe FSD Maroc, Ms. Tricha indicated that it relates to industrial maintenance, with the establishment of three qualifying training courses in the fields of robotics, automation , and hydraulics, indicating that the training will start in 2023 in Tangier, with the prospect of extending it to the regions of Rabat and Casablanca from 2024.

Signed with the Renault Morocco Group, the first agreement will make it possible to develop a diversified professional training offer dedicated to the automotive sector, as well as to meet the human resources needs of the Group and its ecosystem.

Under this agreement, the Renault Morocco Group undertakes to support the OFPPT in the development of training courses, particularly in industry 4.0 and renewable energies, and to define the technical and educational equipment for the benefit of the cities of trades and skills (CMC) of Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima and Casablanca-Settat.

The Group will also contribute to the creation of a start-up incubator relating to the automotive sector at the CMC of Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima.

Through the second agreement signed with the company SNOP-Groupe FSD Maroc, the latter will proceed to the development of alternating training in industrial maintenance and will provide technical and educational equipment for the benefit of certain training centers of the OFPPT whose trainers will also be able to benefit from training sessions with a certification.

Steering and monitoring committees will be set up to ensure the implementation of these two agreements.
