Siguiri: the former Minister of Security, Maramany Cissé, appointed new prefect (Decree)

Conakry-Guinea: In a decree read on national television this Saturday, March 4, the President of the Transition, Colonel Mamadi Doumbouya, appointed Maramany Cissé, former Minister of Security and Civil Protection of Alpha Condé , as the new prefect of Siguiri, his hometown. This is the umpteenth time since the beginning of the transition that Colonel Doumbouya has appointed a prefect in this important prefecture of Upper Guinea.

All of his predecessors were sacked or removed from office for gross misconduct.

For the record, Mr. Maramany Cissé is a very experienced career police officer. In 2013, he was removed from office at the height of protests by the Republican opposition demanding the organization of legislative elections. He would later enjoy a position in the garage of advisers to the Presidency, notably as adviser to the presidency in charge of security sector reforms.
