The 29-year-old man died on Tuesday morning following he was involved in a serious traffic accident in the trunk of a car while celebrating Argentina’s two Copa America titles, police sources said.
The accident occurred at around 1:15 a.m. on Monday in Bajada de Piedra and Colpina, in the Yapeyú community, when Hector Emmanuel ·Héctor Emanuel Rodríguez and a young woman (19 years old) were driving recklessly with the trunk of a Honda (with the hatch open). The Citroën C4.
In addition to the driver, Rodriguez and the young woman, two other women were also driving the Honda. The person traveling in the trunk was ejected as a result of the impact and was helped by local residents.
Rodriguez suffered a closed head injury, multiple bleeding, and bilateral chest injuries. He was sent to Cordoba Hospital for conservation treatment.
He underwent surgery on Tuesday morning but died from his injuries.
