Car rental company Sixt has become the victim of a hacker attack. The company listed in the MDax announced this on Sunday. The disruption was noticed at an early stage and countermeasures were initiated immediately in accordance with the relevant security protocols. Sixt will inform you regarding new findings as soon as they are available.

Sixt admitted significant technical problems on Friday. According to BILD information, the worldwide server problems already occurred on Thursday. At the airport in San Francisco nothing worked for hours.

Since then, the employees have been processing rental car inquiries manually. The contracts are printed out and filled out manually. It is not yet clear how long it will take to repair the damage.

At the beginning of April, the wind turbine manufacturer Nordex was also the target of a hacker attack.
