A train was immobilized this followingnoon between Valence and Avignon, in the Paris-Marseille direction, following the collapse of a catenary carrying cable. All traffic is disrupted on the line and delays of one hour are to be expected.

The work to repair the carrier cable and reconstruct the catenary should “last all evening, without traffic being interrupted”, confirms the SNCF to the Parisian.

Trade compensation

The trains are diverted “on the classic line, in order to avoid the sector concerned, which can lead to longer journey times of around one hour”, according to the railway company.

Concerning the immobilized train, the passengers were able to get out of the train and were transferred to a replacement train. The process ended around 6:30 p.m., and the passengers were then brought to their terminus. “Commercial compensation measures will be offered to customers”, according to the SNCF.
