Football player Mohamed Buya TuraySweden’s Malmö striker, went viral following being the protagonist of an unusual event: he did not attend his wedding by decision of his team and sent his brother as a replacement to his marriage.
The player had the scheduled date quite some time ago, however, his club required the player to arrive as quickly as possible to participate in the Chinese Super League. “We were getting married on July 31 in Sierra Leone. But I mightn’t be there because Malmö asked me to come earlier.”, recounted Buya Turay.
Although the soccer player was present at the civil ceremony, where he took pictures with his partner, Suad Baydoun, to whom he also promised to take her to Sweden to spend their honeymoon.
“We took the photos beforehand, so it looks like I was there, but I wasn’t. My brother represented me at the royal wedding.”, clarified the 27-year-old.
Likewise, the reinforcement of the Scandinavian club added that “I will try to take her to Sweden and Malmö now so that she is close to me. She will live here with me. First, we’re going to win the league, and then I’m going on my honeymoon.”.
