An immigrant father and his son prepare an emotional ofrenda for the man’s deceased wife, Alma. As they carefully arrange each item of the ofrenda, the son, eager to learn about his father’s homeland of Mexico, asks him to tell him his story. Despite the legal barriers that prevent them from returning to their homeland, the father closes his eyes and begins to tell him a magical and moving tale about Mexico and his love for Alma. Through an evocative mix of dance and live music, the father takes his son on an emotional journey that transcends time and space, revealing the deep bond between his homeland and Alma’s eternal legacy.
