South Jakarta Metro Police are investigating the case of the artist’s death Nanie Darham while undergoing liposuction surgery at a clinic in North Cipete, South Jakarta. Police said Nanie Darham was unconscious while the operation was taking place.
Deputy Head of Criminal Investigation Unit for South Jakarta Metro Police, Commissioner Henrikus Yossi, said the incident occurred last Saturday (21/10). Nanie Darham underwent a series of examinations before liposuction surgery was carried out.
Around 15.00 WIB, Nanie Darham entered the operating room. However, during the operation, Nanie’s condition suddenly became unstable.

“In the process of carrying out this ongoing operation, information emerged that the victim’s condition was unstable,” Yossi told reporters, Friday (24/11/2023).
At that time, the clinic called an ambulance and took Nanie to the emergency room of one of the hospitals. But unfortunately, Nanie Darham’s life might not be saved and she was declared dead.
“Next, the victim was taken to hospital. He was treated in the emergency room at a hospital in the Barito area and he was declared dead,” he said.
Family Reports Police
The day following the incident, the family made a report to the South Jakarta Metro Police. The clinic was policed on suspicion of malpractice.
“Yes, it is true that we are currently handling the police report on October 22 regarding the incident alleged malpractice with the victim sister NA,” he said.
Yossi added that the police had carried out a crime scene investigation at the clinic. Currently the police are still investigating the existing reports, including examining a number of witnesses.
“When we received the report, we immediately carried out a crime scene investigation at the clinic, including examining the crime scene where the liposuction operation was carried out. So we also carried out CCTV checks and we have examined several documents related to documents related to the operation,” he explained. .
