Spain football coach Luis Entique resigned Luis Enrique steps down as head coach of Spain

Madrid: After Qatar was eliminated from the World Cup following a shocking defeat to Morocco, Luis Entique resigned as coach of the Spain football team. Luis de la Fuente, coach of the Spain Under-21 team, may take over as the new coach.

Luis Entikwe was appointed as the coach of the national team following Spain were eliminated from the 2018 World Cup by Russia. Under him, the team reached the semi-finals of the 2020 Euro Cup. The Spanish Football Association (RFEF) said in a press release that it would like to thank Luis Entique and other coaches for their service to the national team.

The new coach will be officially decided at the RFEF meeting on December 12. Spain lost to Morocco (3-0) in the penalty shootout without scoring a single kick in the match that was goalless in regular time and extra time in the pre-quarters.
