Spate of Car Fires in Antwerp: Malicious Intent Suspected – Local Police Launch Investigation

Six cars were damaged in the night from Monday to Tuesday by fires, in three different locations in Antwerp (Seefhoek), confirmed Tuesday morning the local police, who assume that it was malicious intent.

The first report of a car on fire occurred around 3:45 a.m., near the Elisabeth pre-metro station. The fire spread to several other vehicles. Three cars burned completely and a fourth was damaged.

Around 6 a.m., other burned cars were reported in two other streets in the same neighborhood. In each case, only one car was targeted.

Police opened an investigation. This will include determining whether there is a link between these events.
