On the night of this Friday, March 29, there was a spectacular accident in the El Poblado sector, in Medellín. A truck that apparently tried to avoid a group of pedestrians fell into a depression and was left semi-destroyed.

The accident occurred near the grotto of the Virgin of La Aguacatala around 7 pm According to what the Fire Department told the newspaper El Colombiano, three minors were inside the vehicle. The driver of the car is 16 years old, although he has a license to drive.

At the moment, all of them are out of danger, but some have fractures in their limbs. The truck also crashed into a pedestrian who is now stabilized.

“The three young people are injured, fortunately, they are stabilized, but they have fractures in their forearms and chest problems. For his part, the passer-by has fractures in the upper part,” Captain Juan Guillermo Usma, deputy commander of the Medellín Fire Department, told El Colombiano.

Until now, it is not known precisely what the causes of the accident were. Some reports have mentioned that it was due to excessive speed, but what happened is still being investigated by the authorities.

According to the city’s Mobility Secretariat, the car was removed from the road around 9 pm and the passage of vehicles was restored.
