Spectacular Twitter faux pas from Bavaria’s Economics Minister

Bavaria’s Deputy Prime Minister and Economics Minister Hubert Aiwanger made an extraordinary slip on social media on Thursday evening. He allows the conclusion that Aiwanger and his PR team regularly use so-called disposable accounts – ie Twitter alter egos who act like real people and are supposed to step out to defend the politician in debates.

But let’s start from the beginning: On Thursday, the German climate researcher Christian Scharun criticized an interview with Aiwanger on Twitter, in which the MEP described the MEP as a “bum in Brussels” and claimed that they wanted to ban firewood.
