achieved less than 10 percent of the revenue announced by the federal government; real profit skimming is required, instead of a senseless extension of ineffective measures

Vienna (OTS) – SPÖ finance spokesman Jan Krainer reacts with criticism to the turquoise-green federal government’s announcement that it will extend the skimming of crisis profits from energy companies: “In November 2022, Finance Minister Brunner announced revenues of two to four billion euros. After a year and a half, this only amounts to 255 million euros, so not even 10 percent of it.” Krainer sees a pure show and announcement policy that the federal government now wants to continue. “Extending an ineffective measure instead of repairing it is pointless. It is clear that what is now needed is real profit skimming of crisis profits from energy companies that also meets the objectives,” concludes Krainer. (End) bad
