The soundtrack to HBO’s The Last of Us is now on Spotify. The announcement was made by the streaming service through its Twitter profile. However, the official album with the OST (Original Soundtrack) has not yet been released, what we have is a playlist created by the Spotify curation team using tracks that already exist on the platform.

The Last of Us series is an original HBO production that was created by Craig Mazin and Neil Druckman. Its story was based on the game developed by the Naughty Dog studio, which was originally released in 2013. The plot begins twenty years after a global fungal infection has occurred due to a mutation of the fungus “Cordyceps”.

Infection with the fungus mentioned above causes the victim to transform into a hostile and cannibalistic creature, something like a zombie. In the HBO series, the character Joel is played by Pedro Pascal, while the teenager Ellie is played by Bella Ramsey. In addition, we have Nico Parker as Joel’s daughter (Sarah) and Gabriel Luna as Joel’s younger brother (Tommy), while Merle Dandridge plays the resistance leader (Marlene) and Anna Torv is Joel’s smuggling partner ( Tess).

The production of The Last of Us series was considered the largest in Canadian history and was filmed in Alberta between July 2021 and June 2022. It was the first HBO series based on the story of a game and was made in partnership with Sony Pictures Television, PlayStation Productions, Naughty Dog, the Mighty Mint and Word Games.
