Springfield, Mass. – January 31, 2024 – Springfield College first-year Jack Callahan (Tewksbury, Mass.) was honored as the New England Wrestling Association (NEWA) Rookie of the Week following a standout weekend for the Pride.

Callahan went undefeated in four appearances for the Pride en route to a 3-1 team dual meet performance last week.  He started his weekend off with a pin over Chris Hong of Wesleyan University on Saturday, before adding two bonus point victories and
accepting a forfeit at the John Reese Duals in Pennsylvania on Sunday. The lightweight grappler has had an impressive rookie campaign, posting a 25-5 record which includes 10 pins.

On Saturday, Callahan and the Pride will host nationally-ranked Johnson & Wales and Castleton beginning at 12 pm in the Field House.
