Sri Lanka: New President to take office today | Ranil Wickremesinghe

Colombo ∙ Ranil Wickremesinghe, who was the Prime Minister of Sri Lanka for 6 times, the first task is to lift up the broken Lanka. The President-elect requested people to forget political differences and work together for the country. “What the people are demanding is not our old politics. Leaders should forget all their enmity and unite. I have 45 years of experience in this Parliament. This Parliament is my life” – Ranil said opening the path of reconciliation.
