Sri Lankan Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa has said he will hold talks with protesters

Colombo | Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa has announced his intention to hold talks with anti – government protesters in Sri Lanka, which is reeling under a severe economic crisis. The Prime Minister has said that he will hold talks with them on the eve of the Sri Lankan New Year. April 14 is the New Year in Sri Lanka

Sri Lanka is currently going through the worst economic crisis in its history. It is likely to take into account the views of those struggling to cope with the current economic challenges. The Prime Minister’s Office has also asked the government to provide information regarding the delegation if the protesters are ready for talks.

Earlier, Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa had called on the people of Sri Lanka to be patient and end street protests to enable the government to address the country’s plight.
