Chicago: Newly elected lay hands take charge at St. Mary’s Canaan Catholic Parish, Morton Grove. On Sunday, January 7th, at the swearing-in ceremony held following Mass at 10 o’clock in the morning, vicar Fr. Siju assumed the position following reciting the oath of office.
Alex Mullappallill, Kunjachan Kulangara, James Akishkevalil and Stephen Chollambale, who are outgoing members of the Church Executive this year, were felicitated on behalf of the parish and honored with plaques. The parish’s new p. R.O. Anil Mattathikunnel and Parish Council Secretary Sunny Meledam were introduced in the function and the Parish Report Book was handed over. Vicar Fr said that there will be a transfer of power ceremony for other office bearers who are spending their vacation. Siju informed regarding it.
