Stardom presented the “All Star Grand Queendom” show on April 23, 2023 with the IWGP Women’s Championship on the line. A show that ended with a new champion.
And so Mercedes Moné, who you knew as Sasha Banks in WWE, lost her women’s title to Mayu Iwatani in a singles match. Iwatani was able to take the win following a Moonsault and a Dragon Suplex for the three count. The two women congratulated each other following the match and Moné demanded a rematch.

Mercedes Moné said at a press conference that she was heartbroken over the loss, a title loss that comes following only 64 days of reign for the formerly known as Sasha Banks in WWE. Despite many questions regarding the loss and the potential end of her contract with NJPW, Moné said she is not done with Stardom and the Japanese federation.
On Twitter, Moné clarified that she is leaving until the next time she returns to Japan. In the meantime, she has confirmed via the press conference that her next match for NJPW will take place on May 21 in California at NJPW Resurgence 2023.
