Elaf: The STARZPLAY platform in the Middle East and North Africa region announced the screening of its latest original work, “Big Lie”, following its success at the box office.
Inspired by true events, the film deals with controversial topics that explore the dark sides of social media and its devastating impact on our lives. In view of the film’s innovative story and its new idea, “Big Lie” is distinguished by providing a new perspective that reflects the contemporary challenges we face in the digital age in the framework of a dramatic comedy.
“A Big Lie” directed and produced by Nadim Muhanna, founder of NMPRO, and includes elite stars from the Arab world, headed by Heba Nour, Sandy Farah, Yaqoub Chahine, Fouad Yammine, Laura Khabbaz, and Charbel Ziada.
The film revolves around the lives of Yasmine and Jessica, who use social media in two different ways to achieve their contradictory goals. Being a journalist, Yasmine uses social media as a platform to stand up for the truth and make a positive difference in her fight once morest injustice. As for Jessica, she tries to present a “filtered” life to her followers, which seems ideal, but in reality she is an unhappy woman suffering from a disjointed marital relationship.
