State Secretary Mayer on the death of Julia Gschnitzer

Vienna (OTS) – “Julia Gschnitzer has been involved in shaping and shaping domestic stage events for over six decades, has followed the developments of the theater closely and, as she herself once confessed, has always been guided by her instincts. She relied on this in the design of her roles, whether for the stage, like Goethe’s Gretchen or Jedermann’s mother, or for television, like Jägerstätter’s wife Franziska in “Der Fall Jägerstätter” or Mrs Vejvoda in “Ein Echter Wiener geht nicht unter” . It wasn’t the big gestures, but the finely directed game that distinguished her art. With the death of Julia Gschnitzer, a part of Austrian acting history is lost. My condolences go in particular to her family, her friends and her numerous companions,” said Andrea Mayer, Secretary of State for the Arts and Culture.
