Stay Safe in Sochi: Mayor Urges Residents to Stay Home During Severe Storm

Residents of Sochi need to stay home due to the severe storm. This was stated by the mayor of Sochi Alexey Kopaygorodsky.

“There is a strong storm in Sochi, emergency and emergency services are quickly eliminating the consequences of the disaster. The main roads have been cleared, but I strongly recommend spending the time of bad weather at home, with your family, so as not to expose yourself to danger,” the mayor’s telegram channel says. A storm warning with showers and snow will last until the end of Monday.

More than 65 trees were blown down in the city. Over 150 people and 130 pieces of equipment are involved in the liquidation of the consequences and rescue operations, mainly housing and communal services workers are engaged in cleaning the roadway.

Due to the approaching storm, 19 aircraft flying to Sochi were diverted to alternate airfields, it was reported RT. Sochi airport began to operate according to actual weather conditions.
