MANY steel companies from China operating in Indonesia do not meet the requirements of the Indonesian National Standard (SNI). This was conveyed by the Minister of Trade (Mendag) Zulkifli Hasan following the Ministry of Trade destroyed concrete reinforcing steel products belonging to PT Hwa Hok Steel.
Economic observer Yanuar Rizki believes that these companies are taking advantage of weak supervision in Indonesia. In fact, according to him, law enforcement in the country can be bought.

Yanuar said that violations committed by a number of foreign companies were nothing new. Often these companies are stubborn and do not comply with existing regulations in the country.
