Steffen Cost (56) will be in charge of the operational business of Great Wall Motor in Europe as Chief Commercial Officer. The experienced automobile manager changes from Kia to GWM.
After studying mechanical engineering in Darmstadt, Steffen Cost started his professional career in 1995 at Renault Germany in the followingsales area. After various positions, the engineer became head of the information, technology, guarantee and customer service department there. In 2002, Cost was appointed managing director and marketing director of Renault subsidiary Sodicam Vertriebs GmbH, which is responsible for the distribution of the brand’s parts and accessories. In 2005, he spent a year as Head of Strategy and Marketing in the Parts and Accessories Division at the Group’s headquarters in Paris and was then responsible for the regional Renault and Dacia business as Sales Director. At the end of 2009, Steffen Cost switched to Nissan, where he took over sales management in the DACH region. In 2015, Kia appointed him Managing Director of the German sales company before moving to the European headquarters in 2021 as Vice President Operations.
In his new role, Cost will report directly to GWM Europe President Henry Meng. (awm)
