Prior to the launch of Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, Stig Asmussen was best known as the creator-director of God of War III, so it’s safe to say that he released it earlier this year Star Wars Jedi: Survivor has been followed by three excellent games. After repeatedly sharing his hopes of making a Star Wars trilogy, he seemed ready to make a fourth, but that didn’t happen. Jason Schreier’s usual reliable sources have revealed that Stig Asmussen has left Respawn Entertainment and Electronic Arts. A spokesperson for EA said he wanted to “pursue other ventures,” which makes it sound like they ended their relationship on good terms. Maybe he just felt it was time to take a break following nearly a decade of intense work, but it’s interesting that this happens just a few months following reaffirming his dream of a trilogy, and probably regarding the same time as serious discussions regarding a third game Start at the same time.
