Stocker: “SPÖ wants to use a disinformation campaign to distract from the fact that it is in fact no longer a workers’ party”

Constitutional Minister Edtstadler and Chancellor Nehammer have made it clear several times: There will be no increase in standard working hours to 41 hours with the People’s Party

Vienna (OTS) – “With a disinformation campaign regarding working hours, the SPÖ wants to distract from the fact that it is in fact no longer a workers’ party – but the party of those who do not work. It no longer represents the interests of employees, but rather makes policy for more social welfare, minimum income, unemployment benefits and higher taxes. The SPÖ’s motto is more gross and less net. She distracts from the fact that she only stands up for those who don’t want to work with disinformation and fake news,” said the general secretary of the People’s Party, Christian Stocker, criticizing the policies of the Babler-SPÖ.

“When it comes to working hours, the People’s Party is committed to enabling part-time workers to work full-time through measures such as comprehensive access to childcare and to motivating more people to do so through incentives – as set out in the Austrian Plan. Because it is clear that those who make an important contribution to our society through full-time work should be rewarded and not punished. So much for the facts. The fact that the SPÖ is now trying, despite all the facts, to create a disinformation campaign regarding the alleged demand for a 41-hour week is a disgrace to the social democrats,” concluded Stocker.
