Stolen Vehicle Suspect Arrested After High-Speed Pursuit and Multiple Vehicle Crash in East Los Angeles

A stolen vehicle suspect who allegedly assaulted a sheriff’s deputy was taken into custody Wednesday following crashing into multiple vehicles and injuring several people while attempting to elude authorities during a pursuit in the East Los Angeles area.

According to the East Los Angeles Sheriff’s Station, the collision, involving at least two additional vehicles, occurred around 1:30 p.m. east of the Long Beach (710) Freeway near Arizona Avenue and Fourth Street.

Los Angeles County Fire Department paramedics arrived at the scene and took four people to hospitals, with at least two of them in critical condition, an LACFD spokeswoman said.

KTLA5 reported that the suspect allegedly assaulted a sheriff’s deputy with an unknown deadly weapon, prompting the chase.

No further details were immediately available.
