US President Joe Biden welcomed NATO’s decision to extend Jens’ term as secretary general. Stoltenberg 1 more year

“With leadership, experience and decisiveness, Secretary Stoltenberg has led our allies through the greatest security challenge Europe has faced since World War II, strengthening NATO. and become more united than in the past.”

“I look forward to working with Secretary-General Stoltenberg at the NATO summit in Vilnius next week. and at the 75th anniversary of the NATO summit which will be held in Washington next year,” Biden said in a statement.

NATO decided to extend Stoltenberg’s term as secretary general for another year, hoping Stoltenberg’s leadership would strengthen NATO. in the midst of conflict with Russia

Stoltenberg, 64, former Prime Minister of Norway. Has been appointed secretary general of NATO since 2014 and has been renewed three times in the past.

Today’s NATO resolution will keep Mr Stoltenberg as NATO Secretary General until October 1, 2024.

Mr Stoltenberg faced the challenge of supporting Ukraine in its fight once morest Russian forces. But it must avoid creating a direct conflict between NATO and Russia.
