The Attorney General’s Office (FGR) executed, with the support of the National Civil Police (PNC), 166 arrest warrants once morest members of a criminal structure that has defrauded the Salvadoran State of $2,229,499.95.

“They used trucks and sedan-type vehicles to transport cigarettes and smuggle them into the country. This product came from Guatemala and Honduras and did not have the corresponding health records,” the Public Prosecutor’s Office reported.

The operation was carried out simultaneously this morning in San Salvador, Metapán, Santa Ana, Ahuachapán, Chalatenango, Santa Rosa de Lima and Pasaquina; the detainees will be charged with crimes of illicit associations and merchandise smuggling.
