Specialist doctors at the Maternity and Children Hospital in Buraidah were able to end the suffering of a 39-year-old patient, through a successful surgical intervention to remove a latent fibroid in the uterus.

The Qassim Health Cluster stated that the patient who visited the gynecology clinic in the hospital was suffering from persistent bloating in the abdominal area, and heaviness in the pelvis for 4 years, in addition to the appearance of a noticeable increase in the size of the abdomen that caused her difficulty in walking and breathing, and that following the necessary CT scan And the necessary analyzes for the patient revealed the presence of a fibroid of 8 kilograms in the uterus.

He added that the tumor was removed during a two-hour operation, with complete preservation of the integrity of the uterus, and the patient left the hospital in good health.

The statistics of surgical operations in the Maternity and Children Hospital in Buraidah until the end of last July of the year 2023 AD indicated that (5461) surgeries were performed, of which 1827 were for children, while the number of women’s operations reached 3634.
