Khartoum — Fighter planes bombed the southern city of El Obeid in Sudan for the first time on Wednesday. The regular army carried out airstrikes on the capital of the state of North Kordofan, eyewitnesses told the AFP news agency. Fighting between the army and the paramilitary RSF militia had been mostly concentrated in the capital Khartoum and the western Darfur region since it began on April 15.
