Supreme Court’s Landmark Reversals: The Impact of Reactionary Members on the US

2023-07-02 14:40:04

The reactionary members of the Supreme Court have reversed landmark decisions and led the US down the wrong path.

A person can only be elected president twice in the USA – a consequence of Franklin D. Roosevelt’s four terms in office in the 1940s. According to domestic political understanding, however, a president wins an unofficial third term if he has the opportunity to appoint one of the nine supreme judges.

Donald Trump appointed three supreme judges in his only term of office and will shape the USA with these appointments for many years to come – and fundamentally change the country. That much can be said following the Supreme Court’s recent decisions. Not only that the supreme court, dominated by reactionary members, has abolished the nationwide right to abortion following almost 50 years. It has now also declared the preferential treatment of blacks in higher education, known in the USA as Affirmative Action, “positive discrimination”, to be unlawful.
