BJP president K Surendran ‘absconded’ in Delhi Surendran, who usually appears in front of the media when he arrives in Delhi, stayed at the residence of Minister V Muraleedharan till Wednesday night without meeting anyone. It is an attempt to create the impression that the central leadership has not been summoned.
The Surendran camp is spreading rumors that some Union ministers, including Forest and Environment Minister Prakash Javadekar, have come to meet him. The aim is to bring the subject of the knee-jerk to Javadekar’s attention. But when the Malayalee Union Minister V Muraleedharan was in Delhi, the question arose as to why Surendran should come for this.
The central leadership had received about 40 complaints from Krishnadas-Sobha Surendran factions on issues like election defeat and money laundering controversy. The BJP was also tired of the news of money laundering at the national level. The central leadership then sought information from a number of BJP supporters, including E Sreedharan, Jacob Thomas, CV Anandabose and Suresh Gopi. The report submitted by them pointing out irregularities in the election fund was also a snare to Surendran.
The reports received by the central leadership include a proposal to dismiss the present office bearers. It was in this context that Surendran was instructed to reach Delhi immediately. Home Minister Amit Shah and BJP president JP Nadda will seek information from Surendran. This will be followed by a decision on matters including a change of leadership.
