Surrbac blocks the burial of Piedras Blancas to claim temporary contracts

Since this morning, the union of garbage collectors from the city of Córdoba (Surrbac) temporarily blocks the entry of collection trucks to the Piedras Blancas sanitary burial site, located in the south of the Capital.

This is a protest by the union led by Mauricio Saillén, which demands that the collection companies and the municipality itself, through the Ente Córdoba Obras y Servicios (Coys), hire temporary personnel to replace workers who go on vacation. It is a traditional conflict of Cordoba summers, which usually happens in December and which was reiterated on several occasions in February, when the same union usually demands the permanence of the personnel that is hired to cover vacations.

From the Municipality of Córdoba it was reported that there is a negotiation underway with the union and that so far there have been no alterations in the collection, since the blockade is not permanent. They also assured that so far the municipality has not hired temporary personnel for the hygiene system.
