The High Authority for Communication (HAC) suspended the site depecheguinee.com and its publishing director Abdoul Latif Diallo, for “professional misconduct” for a period of one month. This Wednesday, September 13, 2023, Reporters Without Borders (RSF) denounces a “disproportionate and abusive” decision, and calls for its annulment.

The publishing director of the news site depecheguinee.com, Abdoul Latif Diallo, as well as his media were suspended on Monday September 11, 2023, for a period of one month. The Guinean media regulatory body accuses the journalist of lack of “professionalism and defamation”.

In a tweet, Reporters Without Borders considered that this decision by the media regulatory body in Guinea is “disproportionate and abusive” and therefore, for this international organization, it deserves to be canceled.

It should be remembered that the press association, the Internet Media Networks in Guinea (Rémigui), to which the media belongs, had also denounced this decision and threatened to take the matter to the Supreme Court of the country to obtain its annulment.
