PORT CHARLOTTE, Fla. – A stunning ninth-inning rally propelled the Brown Bears to a 16-12 victory over the Indiana State Sycamores on Saturday at Centennial Park. The Sycamores appeared to be in control for much of the game, but Brown’s explosive offense in the eighth inning proved to be the difference.
Indiana State (2-4) built an 11-7 lead heading into the bottom of the eighth, fueled by a strong offensive performance. However, Brown (1-2) capitalized on pitching struggles and a series of walks and hit batters to orchestrate a remarkable comeback. The win marks Brown’s first of the 2026 season, while Indiana State looks to rebound in their next contest.

Indiana State managed to scratch across a run in the top of the ninth, but it wasn’t enough to overcome the deficit. Sebastian Torres scored on a fielder’s choice by Carter Beck, but Brown closer Camren Piwnicki shut the door to secure the victory.
