London and Dubai – A recently established technology firm, 1001 AI, has announced the completion of a $9 million seed funding round. The company intends to utilize thes funds to develop and deploy an Artificial Intelligence platform designed to optimize operational efficiencies in vital industries throughout the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region.

Bilal Abu-Ghazaleh, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of 1001 AI, stated that the companyS focus is on rectifying critically important inefficiencies. He estimates these inefficiencies exceed $10 billion annually across core sectors within the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries-specifically, the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, and qatar. These sectors include Airports, Ports, Construction, and Oil and Gas.

According to a recent report by McKinsey, digital conversion in the MENA region is projected to add $2.2 trillion to the region’s GDP by 2030, highlighting the immense potential for AI-driven optimization. 1001 AI is positioned to capitalize on this trend.

How 1001 AI Plans to Operate

The company’s strategy centers on an AI-native operating system aimed at automating decision-making processes. This system integrates with existing client software, models current workflows, and provides real-time guidance to enhance productivity. abu-Ghazaleh explained that instead of manual interventions, such as coordinating vehicle routing or crew assignments, the AI orchestrator will automatically manage these tasks based on real-time data analysis.

From Scale AI to Entrepreneurship

Abu-Ghazaleh brings a wealth of experience to his new venture. Prior to founding 1001 AI, he held roles at Scale AI, where he directed GenAI operations. He previously worked as a product leader at Hive AI. His departure from Scale AI followed a significant meta investment in the company and a subsequent shift in strategic direction.
