Everyone is aware of the ‘loving chemistry’ of Bollywood king Amitabh Bachchan and popular actress Rekha.
It has been reported on several Indian websites that Amitabh and Rekha liked each other very much and wanted to get married, but it was not possible.
Both have appeared in many Bollywood films together, the pair of which are loved by fans.
At the Paris Olympics we may not have seen Teucris Sakellaropoulos (Teucris Films) participating, but at the International Culture Film Festival in India, he and his producer, also Patrini Chrysa Driva (Cdriva Productions), managed to find themselves on the podium . With their documentary “Zaloggo – After the End, Before the End”, they won the first prize in the “Philosophy” category, among many international entries.
Tevkros Sakellaropoulos, with his well-known sense of humor, referred to the coincidence of the start of the Olympic Games with the start of the festival in India, commenting that he did not cross the limits in walking, even though he is constantly… running! However, in the film field, the success was extraordinary, as all three of his documentaries were screened at the festival, highlighting him as an important ambassador of Greek culture on an international level.
“Zaloggo – After the End, Before the End” is a conceptual and metaphysical approach to one of the most tragic yet heroic events in modern Greek history. The prize in India was not only a personal distinction for the creator, but also a recognition of the power of Greek culture in a country with deep philosophical roots, such as India. Tevkros Sakellaropoulos, on social media, said he was impressed by the quality of Indian cinema and emphasized the inherent affinity in the philosophical approaches between the two cultures.
The releases of his films in India do not end here. “Zaloggo” will continue its journey to universities in the country, giving Indian students the opportunity to come into contact with Greek thought and philosophy, through a project that combines the tragic with the heroic and the metaphysical with the real.

After all, “Culture is power!” as Tevkros Sakellaropoulos typically mentions.

Venezuelan opposition leader Maria Corina Machado, who is being asked to win the Nobel Peace Prize, is among the three finalists for the Council of Europe’s Vaclav Havel Prizewhich recognizes actions in defense of human rights, the organization announced on Tuesday.
Machado “is a prominent political figure in Venezuela, committed to denouncing human rights violations in her country and defending democracy and the rule of law,” the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe said.
The work of Maria Corina Machado in Venezuela
The candidate played a key role leading the opposition in Venezuela’s last presidential election. Although the authorities declared President Nicolás Maduro the winner, the opposition claims that its candidate Edmundo González Urrutia won.
The Attorney General’s Office announced on August 5 that it had opened an investigation against González Urrutia and María Corina Machado after they asked the Armed Forces to stop repressing protests that broke out after the results were published and turn their backs on Maduro.
In addition to the Venezuelan opposition leader, the other two finalists for the prestigious award are Azerbaijani political activist Akif Gurbanov, who was arrested in 2024, and Georgian feminist Babutsa Pastaraia.
When is the Council of Europe Prize awarded?
The Václav Havel Prize, created in 2013 and worth 60,000 euros (66,940 dollars at current exchange rates), rewards exceptional actions by civil society in defence of human rights.
The 2024 laureate will be announced at the start of the Assembly’s plenary session on 30 September in Strasbourg, north-eastern France. In 2023, the prize was awarded to imprisoned Turkish patron Osman Kavala.
