Responding to a listener’s query about managing multiple parental relationships, Cannon offered a unique viewpoint. He admitted to having “an issue” with the term “co-parenting,” suggesting it unnecessarily complicates the basic act of parenting. Cannon’s perspective underscores the importance of approaching each family dynamic with individuality, respect, and compassion.
“When you start throwing labels on things, I think it dose more harm than help and can get very dangerous, because then everybody else has a preconceived notion of what you’re doing,” Cannon elaborated, emphasizing the importance of focusing on the core responsibilities of raising children rather than adhering to rigid labels.
Cannon, father to twelve children with six different women, has a unique vantage point on navigating complex family structures.
