Despite the acquisition of the Mojang studio by Microsoft a few years ago, Minecraft continues to be offered on many platforms whether Xbox, PC, PlayStation (PS3, PS4, Vita), various Nintendo devices (Wii U, New 3DS, Switch) and mobile platforms such as iOS and android (and even Windows Phone). What is interesting today is what was revealed through the court documents for Microsoft’s acquisition of Activision in America, which showed us, through the testimony of Tim Stuart, Chief Financial Officer of the Xbox Division, that the majority of Minecraft’s profits come from the Switch version! Where Stewart said that Minecraft generated four times more revenue on the Switch compared to the Xbox platforms. The game also achieved twice the revenue on PlayStation devices compared to the Xbox platform. Describing it as one of the most profitable Xbox games. He added that the reason why Microsoft did not turn this game into an Xbox exclusive despite its great popularity is that this would be severely harmful to the company’s net profits, and that its strength comes from the joint play feature that Microsoft was keen to support with games. We were among those who allowed cross-play in Minecraft. We allowed the title to stay in more than one location and cross-platform login, allowing players to roam across multiple platforms. We operate in the gaming market. There are many platforms, devices and users in the gaming market, and if the gaming market is growing, that is good for us. Some of the decisions we’ve made that we think are good for us but also good for the industry. The rising tide raises all the boats. The strength of a game like Minecraft comes from cross-platform play. You will lose a huge source of revenue if you don’t continue to support this. The importance of this statement comes to confirm how a game owned by Microsoft can be successful on a platform other than Xbox, and that it is not in Microsoft’s interest to limit a very popular game like Code, as Phil Spencer has previously confirmed that they will treat Call of Duty as they treated Minecraft By making it available to more platforms. In this context, the creative director of Massive Entertainment, Julian Geretti, said:
“When we conceived of Star Wars in an open world, we thought regarding where and when it might take place, and we quickly realized we had all the right ingredients for a criminal’s journey. These outlaws live under the control of the Galactic Empire, but they can still thrive thanks to the opportunities that the underworld opens up for people looking to exploit the unrest. It’s time for a new outlaw to make a name for himself, and Kai-Face’s name is written in the stars.”
In turn, Lucasfilm Games Vice President Douglas Reilly said on this issue:
“With Star Wars Outlaws we are very excited to present the first true open world game in the Star Wars franchise, with an action-adventure story filled with both new and well-known characters and planets in the Star Wars galaxy. We’ve been working closely with the talented team at Massive Entertainment, and with their years of experience creating richly detailed worlds, we’re excited to introduce fans to the underworld of Star Wars fantasy like never before.”

I love video games since the days of the family console, and the best adventure games like Tomb Raider and Assassins Creed (before switching to RPG), I have no bias for any home console, for me the best is the one that offers the most unique games. What interests me is experiences with interesting storytelling, as the story is the basis of fun more than the Gameplay.

Xbox
Microsoft revealed that there are three upcoming games from video game company Bethesda Softworks that will be exclusive to Xbox.
According to the report, Microsoft revealed this matter in response to the lawsuit filed by the US Federal Trade Commission (FTC) once morest the Activision Blizzard deal, The Verge reports.
Microsoft’s response read: “Xbox expects three future titles – REDACTED – all designed to be played primarily alone or in small groups – exclusive to Xbox and PC.” and “The Elder Scrolls VI” exclusively for Xbox and PC.
For years, the company has made it clear that it is acquiring studios to support Xbox exclusives (and Game Pass), meanwhile, earlier this month, the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) sued Microsoft to acquire leading video game developer Activision. Blizzard and its blockbuster game “Call of Duty” for $69 billion.
The FTC said the deal, the largest ever in the video game industry, would enable Microsoft to crack down on competitors to Xbox game consoles, rapidly growing subscription content and cloud gaming companies.
