Pensions and disability benefits in Poland will increase by 5.3 percent on March 1, 2026, according to official announcements published in the Monitor Polski, the official gazette of Poland. The increase will be applied automatically, without requiring beneficiaries to submit an application.
The valuation index for pensions and disability benefits in 2026 is set at 105.3 percent. This figure is calculated based on the average annual price index of goods and services for retiree and pensioner households from the previous year, increased by at least 20 percent of the real growth in average wages during the same period. The valuation applies to all benefits granted through February 2026.
As a result of the valuation, the minimum pension, family pension and disability pension will rise by 99.58 złoty to 1,978.49 złoty gross. The social pension will also be increased to 1,978.49 złoty. A partial disability pension will be raised to 1,483.87 złoty from March 1st. The upper limit for supplementary benefits for individuals unable to support themselves will also increase, rising by 135.28 złoty to 2,687.67 złoty.
Alongside the basic benefit increases, supplementary payments will also be adjusted. Effective March 1, 2026, these will be:
- Care allowance – 366.68 złoty
- Orphan’s allowance – 689.17 złoty
- Care allowance for war veterans (totally disabled) – 550.02 złoty
- Energy allowance – 336.16 złoty
- Pre-retirement benefit – 1,993.76 złoty gross

- Veteran’s allowance – 366.68 złoty
- Allowance for secret teaching – 366.68 złoty
- Honorary benefit for centenarians – 6,938.92 złoty
Maximum reductions in benefits will also be adjusted for those with income exceeding 70 percent (but not more than 130 percent) of the average monthly wage. These reductions will be capped at 989.41 złoty for pensions and full disability benefits, 742.10 złoty for partial disability pensions, and 841.05 złoty for family pensions (when only one person is entitled).
Exemptions from deductions will be as follows: 849.42 złoty for alimony payments, 1,401.57 złoty for other enforceable claims, 1,121.28 złoty for improperly received benefits, contributions, or family benefits, and 339.76 złoty for the cost of residing in social welfare homes and care facilities.
According to a statement from the Social Insurance Institution (ZUS), the average pension from the Social Insurance Fund is 3,634.73 złoty, the average family pension is 3,092.84 złoty, and the average disability pension is 2,704.45 złoty. The monthly threshold for entitlement to a supplementary benefit is 3,794.33 złoty.
The increase will be implemented automatically, and beneficiaries can check their fresh benefit amount on their account on the ZUS Electronic Services Platform. Each pensioner and beneficiary will also receive a decision detailing the gross benefit amount as of the end of February, the applied valuation index, the new gross amount after the increase, and information about any care allowance to which they may be entitled.
