Since November, the cameras have been capturing the fifth and final season of The Boys, and Erin Moriarty, one of the show’s stars, recently gave fans a sneak peek with some fresh behind-the-scenes snapshots.
While the images don’t give away too much, one shot shows Moriarty in action, hinting that Annie January, better known as Starlight, might be stepping into what fans are calling her “vengeance era.”
After the intense season 4 finale, Annie and Billy Butcher managed to escape Homelander’s clutches, leaving their teammates in a precarious situation. With Butcher on a mission to eliminate Supes,it’s likely up to the newly empowered Starlight to rescue her friends. If you’re curious about the visuals, you can check out the photos here.
Interestingly, while filming has been ongoing, showrunner Eric Kripke shared in a recent interview that scripts are still being fine-tuned. He explained, “I mean, look – things adjust all the time. That’s pretty par for the course. you’re always rewriting these things right up until the day before thay shoot, and sometimes, the day they shoot. We’re used to changing things as the world changes – but yes, we definitely adjust scripts as new events come to light.”
When asked about the fate of the characters in the final season,Kripke didn’t hold back.He told TV Guide, “Anyone who dies in season 5 will richly deserve it. We have a certain sense of who lives and who dies, but we don’t have it all totally figured out. but you get to do the final season of a show and go out on your own terms, so not everyone’s making it through.”

In the original comics, nearly every major character meets a grim end, with Billy Butcher turning into a full-fledged villain and eliminating moast of his own team. However, the Prime Video series has never strictly followed the source material, so it’s unlikely Kripke will be quite as ruthless.
Season 4 saw Butcher fully embrace his darker side, but if his journey concludes in the final season—which feels inevitable—redemption might still be in the cards. similarly, Homelander’s fate seems sealed, but how it all unfolds remains to be seen.
“The world is on the brink. Victoria neuman is closer than ever to the Oval Office and under the muscly thumb of Homelander,who is consolidating his power,” reads the official synopsis for season 4. “Butcher, with only months to live, has lost Becca’s son and also his job as The Boys’ leader. the rest of the team are fed up with his lies. With the stakes higher than ever, they have to find a way to work together and save the world before it’s too late.”
Returning for the final season are Karl Urban,Jack Quaid,Antony Starr,Erin Moriarty,Jessie T. Usher, Laz Alonso, Chace Crawford, Tomer Capone, Karen Fukuhara, Colby Minifie, Claudia Doumit, and Cameron Crovetti. Joining them are newcomers Susan Heyward, Valorie Curry, and Jeffrey Dean Morgan.
