This is how the spaghetti Hawaii is made

That’s how it’s done: Cook spaghetti or noodles in a saucepan of boiling salted water according to package directions. Finely dice onions. dice ham. Finely chop the garlic.

Melt the butter in a medium saucepan over low heat. Gently sauté the onions for 4-5 minutes until translucent but not brown. Add the garlic and ham chunks and fry for a further 2-3 minutes, stirring regularly.

Drain the pineapple, reserving the juice. Add the cream cheese and pineapple pieces with half the juice to the onion and garlic. Cook together for 2-3 minutes, or until cheese is melted and pineapple chunks are hot. Add the remaining juice and heat slightly.

Drain the pasta, then return to the pan and add the ham and pineapple sauce. Season with a little salt and lots of black pepper. Toss together until the spaghetti is lightly coated in the sauce and serve immediately. Enjoy your meal!

Quiche Hawaii with leek, ham and pineapple – SWR4

Ingredients:

For the Shortcrust:

250 g flour type 405, sifted
125 g cold butter, pieces
1 level teaspoon of salt
80 ml cold water

For covering:

330 g leeks, finely chopped until light green
130 g cooked ham (thick slice, diced)
about 12-15 walnut halves
powdered sugar and salt
some vegetable oil or butter
200g canned pineapple

For the icing:

1 medium onion, diced
2 garlic cloves, very finely chopped
1-2 tsp vegetable oil
Ginger, 2-3 cm, grated
2 teaspoons fruity curry
Chili
100 ml pineapple juice (canned)
1 teaspoon freshly ground salt and pepper
200 ml coconut milk or soy cream
3 Eggs
30 g Parmesan, finely grated

“I think the ‘onion’ leek goes well with the fine sweetness of the pineapple, plus the salt from the crispy fried ham. On top of that, caramelized walnuts. The whole thing rounded off with coconut milk Parmesan egg icing and of course curry!”

Preparation:

For the dough, mix the flour with the salt, add the pieces of butter and mix until crumbly. Now knead the ice-cold water quickly, but little by little, into the dough. The dough must not stick. Shape into a ball and chill in cling film for at least an hour.

For the topping, roast the walnuts in a pan until golden brown, caramelize with a little icing sugar, lightly salt and add a teaspoon of butter. Toss once, then set aside.

Fry the pineapple with roasted aromas. Cut the ham into small cubes. Sear the leek with the ham in a little fat.

Preheat the oven to 180°C circulating air. Roll out the base on a floured work surface to a thickness of two to three millimeters and place in the greased tin. Let the dough hang over the edge.

Press the dough down and prick several times with a fork. Bake for about 17 minutes. Take it out and start the oven!

For the glaze, sauté the onions until translucent, add the garlic, ginger, chili, curry and salt. Fry for two minutes. Deglaze with pineapple juice and coconut milk, bring to the boil once.

Allow to cool, then mix in the beaten eggs and parmesan.

Now cover the quiche first with the leek and ham mixture, then spread the pineapple pieces and the glaze evenly over it. Bake the quiche on the middle shelf for about 30 minutes.

After 25 minutes spread the walnuts on top.
