The President of the National Higher Institute of Music, Heba Al-Qawas, on behalf of the Board of Directors, the administrative and educational bodies, and the members of the National Orchestra of Oriental Arab Music and the Lebanese Philharmonic Orchestra, mourned Professor of Music at the Conservatory Aline Aoun, one of the most prominent musical figures, who had a rich history and important milestones in modern Lebanese musical history. . A professor of music and singing who left an imprint on Lebanese culture with her musical contributions, and as one of the founding names in the musical renaissance in Lebanon.
Aline Aoun was born in 1922. She won one of the first musical awards in Lebanon, the first award from the Conservatory (1944). She also obtained the first music certificates from the Lebanese National Conservatory of Music (1945), signed by the founder of the National Conservatory, Wadih Sabra. Aline Aoun studied with the most famous musicians and music professors, such as: Madame Debaghi, Madame Safransky, and Madame Marchal, who were among the most famous musical names of that era. Starting in 1947, she held concerts in Beirut, Tripoli, Zahle, Aleppo, and elsewhere. She worked as a singing professor at the Lebanese Academy (from 1956 to 1959), at the Lebanese National Conservatory of Music (from 1960 to 1986), at the Anthony Baabda Conservatory (from 1981 to 1986), and at the Institute for Theater and Audiovisual Studies (IESAV) (from (1989). Until 2003). She also worked as a teacher in the art of vocal concentration at the Mounir Abu Debs School of Theater Arts for 4 years. She participated in training courses outside Lebanon, including: in 1954 a course in music education at the Geneva Conservatory, 1962 in Paris from the Ecole de Noemie Perrugia and in In 1963 she graduated from l’Ecole de Marina Dewander School, and in 1969 she had a residency in Siena, Italy at L’Academie Chigiana.

She participated in annual concerts with the Conservatory, either accompanying the piano or the orchestra, and between 1990 and 2013 she performed concerts for charity (in Paris in 1977). Aoun also had skills in restoring some damaged voices, as she succeeded in “reconstructing” the voices of people whose vocal cords were damaged.
